Please allow me to provide a personal recommendation for Ms. Lois Burak.
In the short time I have known Lois, I have found her to be exceptionally motivated to become part of the broadcast community. She has taken a lifetime of experiences interacting with a wide variety of people and put them to use in crafting what will be an entertaining and informative look at life in “Lois fashion”. She has also proven herself to be tireless in achieving her goal in a professional manner.
I believe once given the right opportunity, she will be a valued part of any broadcast effort.

Lois,
I recently received your thank you letter for the broadcast that we did at Beautyworx. I’m glad that you and Netty had a good time because I know that we did! It’s always fun to take the show out live but some places are better than others. Your busy environment and great people you have working made for an excellent broadcast and a fun day! So, it’s really we who should thank you for inviting us over and most of all for being members of our listening family here at WMMR! And thanks for the basket of supplies.

My name is Art Rubalcava, I am a TV Producer for the ABC network program “What Would You Do?” airing Friday nights at 9pm. Although my area of expertise is in television, I’d like to share with you a strong hunch I have about someone who may be a valuable asset for future XM/Surius Programming.
I believe you’ve already had the opportunity to meet Lois “Lolo” Burak, a sexy, head-turning, vivacious woman with an attention-getting personality and a strong point-of-view to match. She’s an out-of-the-box thinker who is a natural lightning rod for attention. She is full of heart, determination, and ambition.
You may already know parts of her story. In brief, she is based out of Philly, where she owned a beauty salon for several years before risking it all and pursuing her passion of becoming an on-air talk radio personality, like her father before her. She recently finished classes in broadcast radio at Connecticut School of Broadcasting, and what she may lack in on-air experience, she makes up for with instinct and charisma.
She has a true understanding of Howard Stern’s radio broadcast style and taste, and I highly recommend her for any opportunity which may be available within your company. Basically, I think this woman need a just a small break and you (i.e. Surius/XM) could be the beneficiaries of her passion and commitment.
Lois is both sarcastic and sincere in her perspective and has an uncanny knack to roll with the punches. She is a strong-minded woman who is not afraid to speak her mind, and that alone could serve as an inspiration to your audience. Or, to coin a phrase originated by Lois herself, can help listeners be able to “Make their Mess their Message!”.
Warm regards,
Art Rubalcava

I’ve known Miss Lolo since Jan. 2011. Though I may never meet her , I feel closer & more comfortable around her than I do my 5 siblings and dozen closest friends. Lolo is that rare kind of person that is actually comfortable “keeping it real”. She’ll give you candid, helpful advice on everything from….uh, um…anal fissures, to impressing the new girl at work, to properly preparing blueberries. She’s one of God’s rare prototypes and we’re damn lucky to have her in Philadelphia. We really look forward to what ju-ju she’ll create with a comfy chair and a live microphone….We’ll all be listening.

Lois Burak is a rare combination of brains, beauty and an all around nice person. She’s very driven and talented and it was a pleasure to work with her on the Pennies in Action fundraiser. To Whom it may concern,
It is my deepest pleasure to highly recommend Lois Burak for any and all positions.
Specifically Ms. Burak has an exceptional work ethic and follow through that is not found in many today.
She understands the meaning of deadlines and accomplishing work at the highest level.
I have known Ms. Burak for over 30 years in a professional capacity and therefore can speak of her constancy.
She excels in areas of promotion and dealing with the public and has consulted with me in a public relations capacity. I believe her skills and talents were developed during a 25 year experience as a successful entrepreneur.
I have been an educator and in the media business for over 41 years and see her potential as an up and coming broadcaster; it could be in her genes as her father was a well known broadcaster as well.
However, she shows great creativity and has the talent to even surpass the high standards of her father. While she prefers radio she has an exceptional “look” to also make her eligible for a successful television career.
Ms. Burak is also pleasantly persistent and has the internal strength to handle any situation.
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me 856-963-6400 at any time.

As an acquaintance of Lois Burak, I would like to take a moment to express some of my recent observations. First and foremost, I find Lois to be a passionate woman with something to say. I have heard many of her viewpoints and life experiences and come away both interested and enriched. I feel that the shear honesty and genuineness that comes from her is natural. That being said, I fell that more people would be interested and could benefit from the points of view that she expresses. Lois is brave and beautiful. Add to that her sincerity and empathy and I strongly believe that given the proper outlet, she has the ability to connect with many different people.
Sincerely,
Michael Russell

…over the past several months I have had the pleasure of discovering this dynamic lady thru mutual friends on Facebook. I believe I was complaining about the representation of females in media, and in general and I was pointed her way.
Although I have yet to meet Lois in person, her posts, her blogs and even some of her status posts are interesting and finally show the point of view, of a single woman my age that hasn’t resigned to her place in life as a soccer mom and/or wife, doesn’t drive a minivan and proves that hot and sexy aren’t just words used to describe just 20 somethings anymore. Lois articulates experiences and opinions in a fresh intelligent manner, but isn’ afraid to step on someones toes, or go head on for something she passionately supports.
I’ve listened to and watched many shows come and go, Howard Stern being an all time favorite because of the subject matter he’ll take on no matter how many people feign disgust or claim inappropriate content. In this ever changing world where we are bombarded with “reality shows” that are questionably real, talk shows, commentaries , and everyone’s unsolicited opinion, I have yet to see a really strong representation of a woman like Lois Burak.
I believe that adding a woman like Lois Burak to any of your upcoming projects would be an asset and a welcome fresh perspective in a mostly male dominated industry.

LOIS,
You raised my eyebrows with those ads, that’s for sure! Wish I knew of

you have to do to promote your cause if you feel so strongly about it.
There is no written rule on how awareness should be raised. Who cares
what a select few think. No
one receives controversy well. People will eventually adapt to the
message. I think it’s also a good idea to get more attention from the
male demographics in this country as well. Men need to understand the
importance of women in our lives.

I 1st would like to start by saying…How grateful I am for someone like you Lois along with PIA caring and raising awareness for Breast Cancer…I am a survivor of this terrible and devastating disease…I was diagnosed in 1996 at age 30. I had no family history..however..I did have knowledge…as a teen I read magazines…and in the back of one magazine it showed “How to Do Self-Breast Exams”…well I did…and continued through out my life…and then one day..there it was a lump..Well I went to a Doctor who said it should be biopsied..I went to 2 other Dr.’s to have other opinions and they all agreed that with no history and my age to have it removed…and I should not worry…Well. After 3 days of waiting the news arrived and it WAS something. Breast Cancer. The Dr. told me. I should have my breast removed. And I would need treatment and at my age of course reconstructive surgery. I heard nothing after the word CANCER…
Well. I went to Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer and met with a wonderful Doctor.. Dr. Jeanne Petrek..she was the Director, Surgical Program for the Breast Center at MSKCC. Dr. Petrek felt we could conserve the Breast and I had a Lumpectomy. Well that was not enough…since my margins were not coming back cancer free…so I had to have another one as well as a dissection of my lympnodes..finally..I had clean margins as well as all my nodes cancer free. I would however have to still have 6 months of Chemo and 6 weeks of Radiation…well fast forward to 1998…and it turns out with some problems I had experienced I was back at Dr. Petreks’ office having something’s done. And come to find my cancer had returned…So. I had no choice but to have my breast removed…and reconstructive surgery was performed…
My hope and prayers are that one day all cancers are no longer. I am grateful for Lois and the PIA for the fight against a cure for Breast Cancer. I hope someday this will be something that will never have to happen
to any woman or man for that matter. My fear is that my daughter will one day have to face what I had to. And I never would want that for her or anyone..
I know some controversy has been made about the wrist bands, t-shirts etc. that say “Save the Boobies”…why?? With all the stuff our children have to look up to…Football players that use animals for a killing sport, actors who drink and do drugs, use racial slurs and degrade women, teen stars that have their bodies exposed in music videos, magazines and movies. That their parents TAKE them to SEE!!… all these things that they see in the media…and a wrist band offends people?? As a survivor of BREAST cancer I can say that this DOES NOT offend me…we need to focus on what the real meaning of these wrist bands and other things t-shirts, etc..is for…A CURE!! We need one and soon!! Let’s take focus off something silly and focus on a CURE!!
Again. I am thankful and grateful for Lois and her fight along with PIA….and can’t say how much I am longing for the word CURE FOR to be said very soon. To all survivors of any cancer. Stay strong, live life for each day and don’t sweat the small stuff. Talk about your feelings and let your family share it with you!! They need to be able to speak about THEIR fears and concerns as well!! Be aware of all of your options. DO SELF BREAST EXAMS!! GET YOUR MAMOS ANNUALLY!! If you have a family history DO NOT wait DO NOT be afraid speak to your doctor…early detection is KEY!! Until their is a CURE!! Give your pennies to PIA..support your Cancer Charities…in the end it will help someone YOU know. I would be more offended hearing someone still has CANCER 10 years from now then be offended by a bracelet that says “Save the Boobies”.
Thank you,
“….Lois is AWESOME and with her life and work experience I believe she would be a credit to The Howard Stern Show. “-I am a Survivor

“…This woman is off the chain and would fit right in with your format. (Howard Stern Show)Here is a piece of her …background via her dad;
Burak who had a radio program esoterically titled “The Marvin Burak Show”, was accused by a small but powerful clique of New Bedford Establishment of stirring up controversy and violating old taboos. I met Lois through Facebook a few years ago and since that time I have been unable to ignore her. She provides a great deal of entertainment in back and forth exchanges with her ever growing fan base on her Facebook page. While most of her fans are male who certainly have one goal in mind given the fact that she looks like a model and has a body that can stop traffic, they also follow her daily posts because of her “shoot you straight” attitude and dry sense of humor. She puts guys in their place in a way that has them begging for more. (I can personally attest to this). In addition, she has many female fans as well. Despite her looks and her brazen attitude, she tends not to offend women, surprisingly. I would strongly recommend that you consider having Lois on the show as a guest. I guarantee you will not regret it. She is, if nothing else, entertaining and will not disappoint if given the chance. I ask that you give her that chance. Sincerely, Christopher Froelich,Esquire

I have known Lois for about 28 years. We met when I was a young criminal defense lawyer just two years out of law school. My mother represent Cyndia Burak, Lois’s Mom, who was arrested and charged with murdering her father, Marvin Burak, a well-known radio personality in the 1950′s and 1960′s. I remember being astonished at the maturity and courage Lois exhibited throughout the weeks and months that culminated in her mother’s acquittal at trial after the Court concluded, based largely upon Lois’s testimony, that the shooting had been in self defense.
Not long after the trial, Lois opened up her own beauty shop, which has flourished in several different guises as a sort of cutting edge beauty showcase in the same location in Philadelphia’s Mayfair section for over twenty years. I represented Lois and the business for many years, and one of the things that always amazed me was how Lois managed to evolve the business. She seemed to have a gift for knowing when to take the business in a new direction. Always on top of the latest trends, and frequently at the forefront of new styles and directions, Lois invested a lot of hard-earned money and human capital in all kinds of business climates to have her business thrive. She was a tremendous source of inspiration for her employees and for many others who were looking to take their businesses to a new level of creativity and success.
As a human being, Lois is smart, passionate and direct. She says it like it is – and doesn’t worry too much about what other people will think about her. I think her self-assurance comes from a fundamental peacefulness about who she is. Instead of hiding behind what is merely popular or culturally correct, Lois isn’t afraid of being vulnerable and expressed at the same time. She is completely comfortable leading a very public life, with nothing to lose and nothing to hide.
I do not know precisely what position Lois is seeking with your organization, but I have absolutely no hesitation in recommending her highly for the simple reason that she is a winner. Her sense of purpose, her perseverance and her distinctive brand of chutzpah will continue to serve her well in any challenge she takes on. I know she would be an asset to any organization that has the foresight to invest in her very prodigious talents.
Thanks for the opportunity to share just a few of the things that set Lois apart from ordinary mortals.
Sincerely, Jeremy C. Gelb esq

I’m writing this recommendation for Lois Burak not because she asked me to, or that I’ve known her all my life, but because she makes me laugh. Sometimes I laugh with her; at her; hell, near her, but the point is–I laugh and I’m a hard sell. This is a rare quality in a person, but rarer still is her passion and commitment to follow her dream, devil may care. It’s refreshing, some may say “foolhardy”, but those are the same individuals who “teach” rather than “do.”
In any level of entertainment, it’s about connection and Lois “connects”, and she does so with a special blend of sexuality, vulgarity and insight that appeals to men without pissing off women. She may be rough from a broadcasting sense, but rough, as you know, is often better than polished. There are plenty of polished professionals, but they rarely rise above the noise. If Lois does anything, she’s above the noise; she demands, in many ways, to be heard whether you like it or not. But isn’t that the point, the difference, the bet?
In the end, talent is a crap shoot; success a roll of the dice… roll the dice on Lois. She is more than a pretty face; a curvaceous body; and salacious wit–she is a woman in full… an entertainer who can make the dirtiest bastard laugh without pissing off every woman in earshot. Take a chance on a good bet.
Sincerely, Brian Larch

I enjoyed your post and your show. As an avid listener I wonder how much gets lost on the audience based on your physical appearance or your appreciation for Howard Stern’s brand of radio. I’ve read your bio and some of the articles that you’re prominently featured in. What intrigues me the most about your story is the drive, determination and work ethic you possess. You had the courage and fortitude to give up a thriving business to invest in your future career by attending the CSB and starting your own radio program…from nothing, on a limited budget and limited resources.
The format or environment you’re entering is dominated by males with a very narrow view on women. Howard and Petey Greene were labeled as pariahs for years. Howard has fought for years to oppose the main stream media and put the type of programming on the radio that is entertaining and salacious at the same time. Howard has pushed the envelope of morality and entertainment. I don’t see Howard as immoral, but he is willing to push the boundaries of what some would consider safe of sacred.
It’s sad to see in 2012 that women cannot express themselves without being labeled as weak or morally comprised. Why can’t a women be attractive, intelligent and overt about her life experiences and not be labeled by society as a tramp. A man can go on the radio and discuss his sexual escapades and he’s revered by the listeners. You do that and it’s frowned upon…I don’t get it.
Women can be anything they want today and most men need to accept and not be threatened by a woman’s confidence or ability. We’ve come a long way since the “women’s revolution”, but apparently you will need to carry the torch from here. YOU will have to break the glass ceiling for others to follow. It’s never easy being first…
To me this is why your show is revolutionary in the sense that no other woman has ventured down this path on the radio. Many female comedians can be bawdy or brazen, but they’re not on the radio weekly for two hours having to develop original content and manage all aspects of the production.
As I stated above, your story is inspiring and it’s bigger than the pictures on your website or the story about your parents. If the message gets lost or drowned out by those pictures than those are probably listeners you won’t regret losing. But if the KOAM were to take the time to listen to your show and see the time, effort and energy you and your team put in each week then your dream of being on Sirius would be realized quickly. At least I think so…the intangible you have that can’t be taught is DESIRE. Don’t lose that, chase your dream and make IT happen!
~Tony Andrea

I am phenomenally impressed with what you have done and with the guts it took to do it, knowing there were no guarantees financially or any other way. I would love to see you succeed big-time. It is easy for other people who play it safe to be critical of your efforts, but the people who do make it big are usually those who followed their dream, even though most other people thought they were crazy. The people who are remembered are usually the ones who took the big risks, went way out on a limb.
I am also impressed with the fact that you promote yourself. It no doubt seems pushy to some people, but if you don’t promote yourself, who will? Not many people can afford professional PR people, marketing experts, media advertising, etc. You are risking rejection with the self-promotion, but I admire you for it. You have guts. And when your name is a household word, I can brag that I knew you when you were a little kid.

To whom it may concern,
I have been a regular listener and fan of the LoLo Show since its inception. I have also been a huge fan of the Stern Show as well for many years now. What I’m trying to convey to you guys is that you should heavily consider adding this show to your Sirius lineup!
This show is wildly entertaining and provocative and has become a favorite form of listening entertainment not only for me but for very many people every night that it is broadcast. I especially enjoyed the LoLo Show’s Spice Radio performance on Sirius XM 103! This show has it all! First and foremost, LoLo is sexy and hot both in mind and body! Just look at her! She’s sultry and gorgeous! She is also an extremely intelligent and skilled hostess. Her interludes into topics and her ability to entertain her listening audience on just about any means of conversation show that she is well educated and versed in the broadcast radio business.
Lois has often mentioned how she reveres Howard. Her background in the radio broadcast business as daughter of Philadelphia’s most controversial talk show radio host, Marvin Burak, her graduation from the Connecticut School of Broadcasting and her experience as host of the LoLo Show, more than prepare her for the next and ultimate step. That is fulfilling her dream to be part of the Stern family of radio entertainment.
Please just give her a chance. You won’t regret it!
Thank you for your consideration and time!

I listened as well this morning. Only thing that I felt was really off regarded the SFX and music being panned to the right speaker. I’m sure those sort of technical things will get sorted with time.

I listened to about a half hour. You sound very good, very comfortable. I would listen to more but I don’t have unlimited internet. Hopefully those folks over at Sirius will give you a show and then I can listen to the whole show. God knows they have plenty of open real estate now the Howie’s working less. ~Mark

Miss Lolo could wander the earth and survive with just a boomarang, if she wanted , but, for some reason – that destiny thing, I guess – she’s heading back to public broadcasting. This time, she’s coming out swinging! Something like ” I came to eat candy canes and expose dirtbags….& I’m all outta candy canes!!!” Maybe a little more so than most of us, life growing up surrounded by media is filled with ugly moments. Dealing with that fear, grief & pain turns into spittin’ nails, bustin’ stones and making people LAUGH! So, best of luck to Randy, Lolo & The Doc….a.k.a Reliable Sources. Joseph Binstead

“…..in this day and age, it’s baffling to me that the list of popular media broadcast venues with engaging, grounded but unconventional women hosts is few. I’d truly like to see your ideas develop into something empowering and captivating for those of us who value the unmitigated effect of honest broadcasting. best to you and thanks for the enlightening sentiments.” -lfnj

Just like when I listen Howard Stern, when I listen to The LOLO show I feel like I’m hanging out with good friends. Lois is a 10, but she talks like she drives a tractor trailer for a living. That’s the perfect women if you ask me. Big fan of the show. ~Brian from Philly

Lois is an incredibly talented radio personality, with a very awesome radio show that’s getting some justified notice! Lois was very gracious in featuring myself and the boys in The DnA Project in one of her shows

AMarie Castillo By the way, Lois you made my inspiration board! I have a board that I look at everyday that motivates me and you have become a big inspiration

Your HS assessment is spot on. HS can get away with it for a multitude of reasons. Your biggest challenge is the double standard that Society places on women. Provocative and titillating is a marketing tool. But you’ve got to spin it right. It’s a slippery slope your on.
Tony

I’m glad you’re on iTunes, I can listen on my phone now. You’re one of the best female radio people I’ve heard, and I hope others continue to realize that.
